Pretoria Chinese School is a private school of choice and each year we receive more applications than we can accommodate. Not all applications can be accommodated so please make sure you enrol as soon as possible.

How do I start the Application Process?

Before You Start:

Please download and print your own copy of our PROCEDURES FOR APPLICATION CHECKLIST. Use this handy CHECKLIST to mark and verify your completed and signed documents before handing them in person to the School.

Attach Documents & Pay Application Fee

Kindly attach the following copies to your completed DOCUMENTS:

  • PARENTS / GUARDIANS I.D. or PASSPORT

  • PUPILS BIRTH CERTIFICATE

  • PUPILS IMMUNISATION CARD (applicable only to Gr 00 to 3)

  • MEDICAL AID CARD

  • PROOF OF RESIDENCE

  • COPY OF LATEST SCHOOL REPORT

  • VALID VISA/STUDY PERMIT

When handing in the Application Forms, there is a non-refundable APPLICATION FEE of R1000.00 immediately due and payable  -  Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) most welcome! Your application can only proceed to the next stage once we have verified your payment.

NOTE: Ensure all details are correct, forms signed and requested copies attached.  Once completed, please hand deliver all original forms to the School’s Admin Office in person.

Hand Deliver Your Completed Documents to Pretoria Chinese School

Your application process will only be finalised once:

  • We have received all your completed and signed application documents as well as financial and confidential forms from the current school, and

  • You have already paid your R1000.00 APPLICATION FEE.

The relevant Deputy Principal will assess your application for enrolment once ALL completed Application Forms are handed in.


A school representative will be in touch informing you whether your application for school admission was successful or not.

You will then receive the following feedback: 

  • Date of Student Assessment/ Sit-In or Placement Test (Not for Grade 00)

  • Grade 1 only: School Readiness Assessment must be done by an Educational Psychologist

  • Interview Date – Both parents and child to attend, when requested to (Interview will be with the Principal and Deputy Principal).

Once your child is accepted as a student, the following fees will be
payable within 10 working days:

FEES PAYABLE BY SOUTH AFRICAN STUDENTS ON ACCEPTANCE:

 Non-Refundable REGISTRATION FEE

R6 000.00

 SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT FEE* (once-off)

* The School Development Fee is a once-off charge per Family

FEES PAYABLE BY INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ON ACCEPTANCE: 

FULL SCHOOL FEES ARE TO BE PAID UP-FRONT FOR THE FIRST YEAR
